Bankruptcy Questions and Answers

How much does bankruptcy cost?

The cost depends on several factors, including the type of bankruptcy you are going to file and how complicated your case is. I can tell you the exact cost during our first consultation. Also, we offer special fee arrangements for clients on social security.

How long does bankruptcy take?

A typical chapter 7 case takes about 90 days from the day the case is filed until the case is closed,. A typical chapter 13 takes up to either 3 years or 5 years depending on the type of chapter case it is. We will be able to tell you more accurately after we have the information from you that we need.

How do I know whether I car file?

Almost everyone can file at least one form of bankruptcy.  I will tell you what you can do and everything else you want to know during our first consultation.

Will I lose any property if I file?

If there is any risk of you losing property you want to keep, I will tell you about that and we can decide what to do., including filing a chapter 13, which allows you to keep all your property.
