How John Bates Changed History

He knew that he would have to fight in the courts for the right to do this. The bar association tried to disbar him and he took them all the way to the US Supreme Court. In 1977, he WON his case (the famous "Bates case") and since then lawyers have been permitted to advertise their fees.
