How long does bankruptcy take?
After your case is filed, the time depends on the type of case.
1. If you are in chapter 7, it's about 90 days.
2. If you are in chapter 13, it is usually either 36 or 60 months. I can tell you which at a consultation. On the day you file your chapter 7 or 13 bankruptcy, your creditors are ordered not to call you, write you, or sue you.
How do I know whether I can file?
